Bootsie and Skinny

Been caring for Bootsie and Skinny since April 15 here in Duke Forest. Will be here till  June 11. Skinny is a purebred Tonkinese who was a professional show cat in his youth. He is now 19 and retired. We had some cold rainy nights and he enjoyed the fireplace. Bootsie is a feisty 12 year old who enjoys catching lizards.

Reuniting with Carlotta in Chapel Hill

Carlotta is a repeat customer. Last year at this time it was below freezing and we lost power. This year it's been close to 80 every day. We've been having a great time together hanging out on the deck, hammock, swing and going for long walks in her backyard.

She recently turned 18 and is in better health than when I first met her. She had an iodine treatment for her thyroid and now eats a raw food diet. She still loves to be chased up the long staircase in her castle and have her belly rubbed.

Goathouse Refuge Cat Santctuary in Pittsboro, NC

I recently visited here. What a wondeful place. Over 250 free roaming enclosed cats. These cats LOVE people. You will have no problem getting cats in your lap. They are not only photogenic but they demand to be photographed! As I was snapping a picture of one feline, another was swatting at me for attention. Someday I hope to start a sanctuary like this one.

Kitty Cardio- Pewter sheds the pounds!

After a more regulated food intake and a consistent cardio routine of feather chasing 2-3 times per day, Pewter has reached his goal weight just in time for those new summer fashions! Here he is taking a breather from some ab toning crunches.

Back In Durham!

Sometimes I think Durham, NC is the epicenter of cat ownership. All cat nanny roads seem to lead me back here. There is always a cat owner traveling and in need of live-in feline care.

After being on the road for the last year; a cattle ranch in Georgia with 4 cats, a Philadelphia penthouse with one cat and 1 frog, then back to Durham with the 5 cats on 9th Street, then back and forth to my aunt's beach house on the coast, 1 cat in Chapel Hill, then living with a friend in New York City....I am more than ready to settle down for a while and not see my suitcase for a long time.

Began this cat sit in April 2015 and will be here through February 2016. Pewter and Sweetie Pie's mom is working in Australia over the next year.

Pewter is 6 years old and a food addict. He weighs 19 lbs and through regulated food intake and a cardio routine he will hopefully be reaching his goal weight of 15 lbs.  His sister Sweetie Pie is 12 years old and a light eater. She prefers cuddling to eating, definitely living up to her name.

Planning to attend the first ever CatCon! Lil Bub will be there and Henri and maybe even Grumpy Cat.
